TOLEDO, Ohio — The WTOL 11 Weather team has issued an ALERT DAY for next Thursday, Nov. 21 for a powerful late autumn storm system that is expected to bring gusty winds, rain, plunging temperatures and possibly the first snowflakes of the season.
It will be very mild early next week. Rain chances will arrive Tuesday and into Wednesday ahead of this system.
Temperatures will plunge Thursday with the arrival of a powerful cold front and strong gusty winds that may reach 40 mph or greater. Rain will become likely through Thursday, possibly mixing with wet snowflakes. At this time, no accumulation is anticipated, but this may bring the first snowflakes of the season.
Falling temperatures back into the 40s for daytime highs Thursday will mark the first significant cold blast of the late Autumn season. This will overall be a general storm of inconvenience to daily routine.
The wind chill factor will likely make it feel colder with the feels like temps back in the 20s and 30s. It will likely remain very breezy and colder into Friday with highs in the low 40s and the continued chance of scattered rain and snow showers.
