TOLEDO, Ohio — WTOL 11's weather team has issued an ALERT DAY for Wednesday morning wind chills.
Partly cloudy skies will be expected overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. A wind chill advisory is in effect for the entire area through tomorrow morning. Overnight lows into Wednesday morning will be in the low single digits above zero with wind chills of -15° to -20° through daybreak.
Many area school districts are already delayed or closed at this time due to the expected severe cold through Wednesday morning. Actual air temperatures will range from zero to five degrees.
Winds will remain gusty through Wednesday morning resulting in some areas of icy and slippery travel, especially in rural and country areas.
Several local school districts, including Toledo Public Schools and Washington Local Schools, announced Tuesday that classes are canceled for Wednesday due to the weather.
CHECK THE LIST: School delays and closings
We aren't the only ones across the state of Ohio to be dealing with the frigid cold. In fact, every single one of Ohio's 88 counties is under a wind chill advisory. This will mean Ohio's entire population of nearly 12 million people will be facing sub-zero wind chills into Wednesday morning.
There will be partly sunny skies into Wednesday afternoon with highs near 20 degrees. Winds will still gust over 30 mph with some minor blowing snow.
An ALERT DAY has also been issued for Thursday and Friday with another round of light snow and cold that will arrive.
