Weather Wise | Are the warm temperatures this week a new record?

We are going to reach 70 this week! Diane Phillips opens the record books to see if a new record will be set.

TOLEDO, Ohio — There is a well-known saying in northwest Ohio: "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. It will change."

This proves true in the month of March, as the weather transitions from winter to spring.

This past weekend we had frigid weather on Saturday, with more mild weather on Sunday. But this week will be in the 60s, with temperatures on Thursday reaching all the way up to the 70s.

The jet stream brings this sudden change, but are the warm temperatures enough to get into the record books?

We did some digging and this week will not be record-setting.

Here are the record-setting temperatures we found for this week:

March 14 - 79°

March 15 - 78°

March 16 - 78°

March 17 - 77°

March 18 - 76°

So, no record-setting temperatures this week.
