Jackets and rainboots: How often is a snowy or rainy Halloween?

Halloween 2023 saw the most snow for the date on record, making it a memorable Halloween for many. Before that, we saw a trace amount of snow in 2014. It has only snowed on Halloween seven times since the beginning of record keeping.

Rain chances on Halloween are pretty common every few years. The last time we were rain-free on Halloween was 2021. We've had more Halloweens with rain than no rain.

The temperature can make or break some people's costume by having them wear a coat. We all remember that one Halloween costume that had to be covered up from a jacket.

Halloween 2024: What to expect

Our WTOL 11 meteorologists are forecasting a more milder Halloween this year. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s with a small chance for rain. The last time we saw a Halloween with temperatures in the 70s was 2008.
