TOLEDO, Ohio — Major Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in western Florida later this week. With evacuation orders in place in multiple counties due to life-threatening storm surge, people across the country may want a way to help those affected by the storm.
WTOL 11 will host an American Red Cross phone bank Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. During the phone bank, Red Cross volunteers will take calls from those who wish to make monetary donations to disaster recovery efforts.
To speak with a Red Cross volunteer, call 419-725-1600 during the aforementioned hours on Wednesday.
Donations will not only assist recovery following Hurricane Milton, but also in the efforts following Hurricane Helene, which made landfall in Florida fewer than two weeks ago and brought massive flooding to the southeastern United States. As of this writing, Helene claimed the lives of 230 people.
The American Red Cross provides disaster relief in a variety of forms, including providing shelters and helping locate loved ones. For more information, click here.
