TOLEDO, Ohio — High winds on Saturday have led to multiple power outages across the region.
As of 5:45 p.m., Toledo Edison reports almost 2,000 customers still without power.
That number was as high as 9,000 earlier in the day.
Also at 5:45 p.m. Edison reported over 2,000 outages in Sandusky County and over just about 600 in Wood County, down from over 5,000.
Across Ohio, more than 100,000 homes were without power at one point.
In Bryan, OH the canopy that covers the pumps at the Marathon gas station on Union St. blew over in the wind.
In Findlay, a trampoline was briefly hanging on power lines on Tappen St. as a result of the wind.
High winds have been knocking down various power lines across the area, and creating roadblocks as crews work to fix the issues.
WTOL Meteorologist John Burchfield says high winds can be expected to continue until sunset.
"Strong winds will diminish this evening as the ALERT DAY comes to an end. The risk of damaging winds will subside as wind gusts drop from 60 mph to 40 mph by midnight. Additional power outages and structural damage is unlikely."
