HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — Multiple tornadoes likely touched down in northwest Ohio Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
NWS on X, formerly known as Twitter, said at 7:50 p.m. that a "damaging tornado" was on the ground by Carrothers in Seneca County, about 20 miles southeast of Tiffin.
NWS also reported at about 8:13 p.m. a "strong and damaging tornado LIKELY near Plymouth," which sits on the southern border of Huron County and the northern border of Richland County.
Area law enforcement said earlier Thursday that tornadoes were spotted in northwest Ohio.
Authorities spotted one near the village of New Riegel in Seneca County, about 20 miles east of Findlay, and one near the village of Vanlue in Hancock County about 12 miles south of Findlay.
A house on County Road 29 in Hancock County sustained storm damage and there is no roof on the house, homeowners told WTOL 11.
