MONROE COUNTY, Michigan — One of the six people charged in the killing of a Monroe woman entered a no contest plea to a murder charge Tuesday.
Kayla Sedoskey, 23, was found dead at the abandoned Boysville Juvenile Facility in March 2023.
Prosecutors say 21-year-old Brin Smith, of Frenchtown Township, lured Sedoskey to the facility under the impression that it was so they could spend time there alone. Once at the facility, Sedoskey was attacked by her killers.

Additional terms of the plea included a mandatory minimum sentence of 40 years in prison for Smith.
Five people have now been convicted for their involvement in Sedoskey's death. One more person is currently awaiting trial.
