Due to hazardous weather conditions and high speeds, police ended the pursuit.
Both children were located at the scene but Chervenka fled on foot.
The infant was transported to a hospital for further evaluation and was "in fair condition" following the incident, according to police. WTOL 11 has reached out to Bryan police seeking further information on the infant's current condition.
Chervenka was ultimately arrested in Edgerton in an unoccupied apartment the following day, village police said, adding that they had received a tip about his location. He attempted to flee and was apprehended by a K9, which minorly injured him.
Chervenka was charged with endangering children and failing to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
