TOLEDO, Ohio — Charges were dropped against a man accused of stabbing a woman multiple times in August near the Chessie Circle Trail in Toledo, according to Toledo Municipal Court records.
Court records indicate the felonious assault charge against Alejandro Salazar Jr., 26, was dropped after the victim failed to appear in court on Tuesday. Court records said the state was unable to proceed.
The incident occurred near Bowman Park by Jackman Road around 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. According to Toledo police, the victim, a 34-year-old woman, said the suspect asked to use her phone and then asked the woman to perform a sex act. TPD said the woman declined and was maced by the suspect and then stabbed twice in the leg and once on her right side.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said. Salazar was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
