DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Defiance Police Department is seeking information on a hit-skip crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured Sunday.
According to a press release from the department, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 1000 block of West High Street near Harding Street at approximately 12:49 a.m. Sunday. Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of the incident and located the victim in the roadway. According to police, the victim had "serious injures."
The vehicle, which the victim described to police as possibly being a Tahoe, fled from the area northbound on Harding Street and did not stop after the collision.
Police are seeking information on the incident from the public. Anyone who witnessed the incident should call the Defiance Police Department at 419-784-5050.
According to the press release, additional information that may be helpful in the investigation includes:
- The license plate number, make, model and color of the suspect vehicle
- Direction the suspect vehicle was traveling
- Video footage of the vehicle in the time surrounding the incident
- Any other relevant details and information
