A Lucas County judge gave Don Eames 16-18.5 years and mandatory post release control for his role in the deaths of Ke’Marion Wilder, 16, and Kyshawn Pittman, 15.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County judge sentenced a man to 16-18.5 years in prison for kidnapping and involuntary manslaughter in the 2022 deaths of two Toledo teenagers.

Don Eames was also sentenced to mandatory post release control for his role in the deaths of Ke’Marion Wilder, 16, and Kyshawn Pittman, 15. He was convicted on June 10 of two counts each of involuntary manslaughter and kidnapping and also pleaded guilty to one count each of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

The sentencing for Carrissa Eames, who was convicted on the same day as Don, was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was rescheduled to July 2 at 10 a.m.

According to Lucas County Prosecuting Attorney Julia Bates, the two teenagers had attended a birthday party at Maumee Bay State Park and been asked to leave. They then went to a home in Toledo, where they played video games in the basement until the two were confronted about a theft.

During the confrontation, Wilder and Pittman were beaten and bound, the prosecutor's office said, before they were transported via vehicle to a third, unknown location, where they were killed.

The teens were taken back to a home on Chase Street, where their bodies were later discovered by authorities following a house fire on Dec. 15, 2022.

The Lucas County Coroner determined the teens had been killed prior to the fire.
