TOLEDO, Ohio — A man was indicted on an addition charge in a west Toledo shooting that injured a 2-year-old and adult in early September.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Ethan Smith was indicted on a first-degree felony charge of attempted murder Thursday, with specifications for firearms and a drive-by shooting. This is in addition to the several other charges on which Smith was indicted in late September, including the following:
- Five counts of felonious assault
- One count of improperly discharging firearm at or into habitation
- One count of discharge firearm on or near prohibited premises
- One count of improperly handling firearms in motor vehicle
- One count of having weapons while under disability
Smith is accused of shooting both victims — the 2-year-old in the head and the 20-year-old man in the leg — on Sept. 5 around 10:45 p.m. inside a home on Mackow Drive in the Scott Park neighborhood.
Smith was held in Monroe County by the sheriff's office on Sept. 9. On Sept. 13, he was extradited back to Toledo.
