Several Toledo homes hit by gunfire over Super Bowl weekend

Toledo police responded to reports of gunfire striking homes Saturday and Sunday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Over the busy Super Bowl weekend, Toledo police responded to multiple reports of gunfire striking city homes:

Saturday, Feb. 10

  • Just after 11 a.m. Friday, a man noticed there were bullet holes through his home on the 800 block of Geneva Avenue in south Toledo and called police. A bullet hole was found in a fence as well as a bullet casing found in the alley outside the home, according to police reports. No injuries were reported. The exact time of when the bullet holes were created is unclear.

Sunday, Feb. 11

  • Just before 8 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a shots fired call at a home on the 3400 block of Maher Street in north Toledo. The home was occupied by three people at the time of the shooting and all were uninjured, according to reports. No arrests have been made.
  • Just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a home that was hit by bullets on the 100 block of Arklow Drive off Hill Avenue in south Toledo. No injuries were reported although officers at the scene did find evidence of a shooting that occurred behind the home, according to police reports. No arrests have been made.

The Toledo Police Department continues to investigate all shooting incidents that occurred over the weekend.
