One suspect arrested, warrant issued for another in north Toledo fatal shooting

Joshua Davis, 44, was shot twice on June 13. He later died at the hospital.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police arrested a suspect Monday in the north Toledo shooting that killed one man and injured a teen on June 13. A warrant has been issued for a second suspect. 

According to a press release from Toledo police, law enforcement arrested Marquise Brent, 27, in the shooting that killed 44-year-old Joshua Davis and injured whom police described as a juvenile female. 

Brent was charged with murder. On Tuesday, Brent was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court, where a judge set his bond at $1 million. 

Police said they also issued a murder warrant for a second suspect, Ontrionis Armour, 23, who is not yet in custody.

Police responded to the intersections of Lake and Elm streets around 4:30 a.m. on June 13 after two people were shot in a residence. Emergency crews were seen performing CPR on both victims as they exited the house. 

Both victims were taken to the hospital via ambulance. Davis later died of his injuries.

Davis was shot twice in the torso and his death was ruled a homicide by multiple gunshot wounds, the Lucas County Coroner's Office said.

The second victim was in critical condition as of June 14. Her current condition is unknown.
