Police: Man arrested for smashing in vehicle windows outside Lucas County jail

The suspect also damaged a police vehicle, according to the report.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon for allegedly damaging vehicles in downtown Toledo.

According to a Toledo police report, officers responded to a call for a man using a metal object to break out car windows in front of Lucas County jail at approximately 1:45 p.m.

In addition to damaging civilian vehicles, the suspect also damaged two law enforcement vehicles: one belonging to the sheriff's office, and the other to Toledo police. The Toledo police vehicle was "rendered unusable," police said in a court document; its windshield had been completely smashed in.
