TOLEDO, Ohio — The suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in south Toledo in October was indicted Thursday by a Lucas County Grand Jury.
Elijah Garza, 24, was indicted on two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault in the homicide of 24-year-old Zayn Disher.
Police found Disher with multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence in the 2500 block of Airport Highway around 3:46 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, according to a report. He was pronounced dead at the hospital about two-and-a-half hours later.
According to court documents, Garza, who is from the Detroit metro area, shot Disher with a handgun.
Family of Disher held a vigil for him on Oct. 28, where attendees participated in a moment of silence and lit candles in his memory.
