Oregon police ID wrong man in bike theft, correct suspect now in custody

The individual initially associated with the crime has been cleared of any wrongdoing and officers have apologized for the mistake.

OREGON, Ohio — Oregon police have identified the suspect accused of stealing five bikes from outside Walmart after initially posting a picture of the wrong man.

According to police, the first individual contacted police after his picture was posted on social media and has since been cleared of any wrongdoing. 

The true suspect was eventually found by police and charges are now pending against that individual.

According to police, that person is accused of stealing a young customer's bike from outside the store and fleeing the scene, before eventually returning to steal the four remaining bicycles they left behind.

At this time, the name of the suspect has not been released.

UPDATE: Several days ago we posted these photos attempting to identi... fy an individual responsible for stealing children's bikes from Walmart. The individual in this post contacted police and has been cleared of any wrongdoing. Subsequently, the true suspect has been identified and charges are pending.
