ADRIAN, Mich. — One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Adrian Sunday, police said.
According to a press release from the Adrian Police Department, officers responded to the train tracks near South Central Street and East Michigan Street regarding reports of a person shot in the face. Police located the victim, whom they described as a 19-year-old male, and transported the victim to the hospital. The victim is expected to survive, authorities said.
Police said witness statements at the scene indicated the shooting as "targeted" and nothing at the time of the release suggested the public is in any danger.
Police collected evidence from the scene and completed a K9 track, the release said. Authorities did not name any suspects or say if any arrests had been made.
Anyone with information, or witnesses who have not yet made a statement to police should contact Detective Greg Lanford at 517-264-4808.
