TOLEDO, Ohio — Two teens were arrested following a police chase that ended in a west Toledo crash Tuesday evening.
According to a Toledo police report, officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near Dorr Street and Avondale Avenue at approximately 6:45 p.m. The vehicle then allegedly fled and led police on a pursuit.
Police said the pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree in Calvary Cemetery in the 2200 block of Dorr Street. The occupants of the vehicle, a 17-year-old and 16-year-old, exited the vehicle and fled on foot, police claimed.

Officers apprehended the suspects and took them into custody, according to the report. During the foot pursuit, two officers jumped over a metal fence and sustained injuries to their hands; one officer suffered puncture wounds on both hands.
The officers were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but it was unknown at the time of the report if either would miss work due to the injuries.

The suspects were not listed as injured in the report. Police did not state what charges the suspects were facing. It is WTOL 11 policy not to name minor suspects.
