Several Toledo-area homes struck by gunfire in recent days

Toledo police responded to reports of gunfire striking homes Friday and Saturday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating multiple reports of gunfire striking city homes in recent days.

Friday, Feb. 16

  • Just after 1 p.m., officers were at the scene of a multi-family residence on the 1100 block of North Huron Street in north Toledo on an unrelated call when a resident from a different unit said he heard a single gunshot prior to police arriving. 

    According to reports, the man stated he located damage to a wall along with evidence of a bullet laying on his apartment floor. An investigation determined a singe gunshot originated from the apartment directly below. 

    Officers entered the apartment below for a safety check shortly after receiving no response. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made. The resident of the apartment below arrived at the scene while the investigation was in process.

Saturday, Feb. 17

  • Just after 9 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call at a residence on the 4000 block of Berwick Avenue in west Toledo. Officers at the scene observed signs that bullets had struck the house. 

    No injuries were reported. No arrests were made and police do not have any suspects at this time.
