Suspect fires shot in Bedford Township following argument, flees

Authorities responded to the scene around 5 a.m. Saturday.

BEDFORD CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at a mobile home community in Bedford Township early Saturday. 

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, deputies were dispatched to the Northtowne Meadows Mobile Home Community in the 6200 block of Telegraph Road around 5 a.m. after receiving a call for a shot fired. 

OTHER HEADLINES: Police respond to west Toledo home, report evidence of shooting

Authorities arrived on scene and determined through investigation that the suspect had a disagreement with a roommate in the street outside their residence. The suspect had a firearm and fired a shot at the ground, the release said. The suspect then fled the area before deputies arrived. 

No one appeared to be struck by the gunfire, according to the press release. The sheriff's office said it was following up on leads to locate the suspect.
