TOLEDO, Ohio — One person was injured in a north Toledo shooting Tuesday afternoon.
According to a Toledo police report, officers responded to the intersection of Cherry Street and Ferris Avenue just before 4 p.m. on a call for shots fired. Police said shots were fired on the opposite side of Cherry Street by a suspect, who then fled on foot.
One person, a 31-year-old, was struck in the leg and then transported to the hospital by family before police arrived. Police did not say in the report the severity of the injury, or what condition the victim was in.
Police investigated the scene, where they found shell casings. Officers in the area stopped two people, one of whom matched the description of the shooting suspect.

Police arrested 24-year-old Tevin Watkins, who was later charged with felonious assault. Watkins is being held on a $150,000 bond.
