TOLEDO, Ohio — Police have arrested a suspect in a May double shooting that left a teenager dead and a man critically injured in south Toledo.
Markas Walker, 21, was arrested on June 13 and charged with murder and felonious assault, according to the Toledo Police Department.
Walker appeared in Toledo Municipal Court on June 14 where a judge set his total bond to $1 million.
On Thursday, Walker was indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury on two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of attempt to commit murder, discharge of firearm on or near prohibited premises and tampering with evidence.
Another suspect in the incident, Marquise Walker, was also indicted by a grand jury on the same charges.
He is scheduled to be back in court on June 21.
Officers responded to the call of a person shot around 2 p.m. on May 31 in the 1400 block of Beecham Street near Spencer Street.
One of the victims, a 25-year-old man, was found lying in the street. The second victim, 17-year-old Marshawn Robinson, was found in the rear of a nearby residence, according to Toledo police. Both had been shot at least once and were treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
Robinson later died from his injuries. His cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and ruled a homicide, the Lucas County Coroner's Office said.
The 25-year-old victim was listed as being in critical condition following the shooting. No further update has been provided regarding his condition.
Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call or text Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
