Suspect indicted in fatal Findlay shooting

Peyton Howard was indicted by a Hancock County Grand Jury on four charges in connection to the May shooting death of 18-year-old J'vion Zimmerman.

FINDLAY, Ohio — The suspect accused in the May fatal shooting of an 18-year-old in Findlay has been indicted by a grand jury.

Peyton Howard, 18, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, was indicted Tuesday by a Hancock County Grand Jury on one count of voluntary manslaughter, one count of involuntary manslaughter, one count of having weapons while under disability and one count of tampering with evidence.

According to Findlay police, the incident happened just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. in the 100 block of Howard Street off of North Main Street.                            

Police said they found 18-year-old J'vion Zimmerman, of Port Clinton, in an alley with at least one gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Howard is currently in jail and no arraignment date has been scheduled yet.
