FINDLAY, Ohio — Police have arrested and charged a suspect in the Findlay shooting that killed 18-year-old J'vion Zimmerman, according to a press release.
The suspect was located and arrested, Findlay police said in a release Thursday. The suspect, who is a juvenile, was charged with the following counts:
- Involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony
- Voluntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony
- Having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony
- Tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony
Police have not released the suspect's name. The case is expected to be bound over to the common pleas court in the coming weeks, police said.
The case is still under investigation.
Zimmerman was shot just before 7 p.m. on the 100 block of Howard Street off of North Main Street on May 27. Zimmerman, of Port Clinton, was found in an alley with at least one gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
Zimmerman was taken to the hospital where he later died.
