TOLEDO, Ohio — An illegitimate 911 call lead to a large police presence outside of a west Toledo home Monday night, according to a Toledo police report.

Law enforcement responded to the 100 block of Rochelle Road shortly at approximately 9:45 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. The caller claimed to be a man at the residence and stated he had shot his father and was holding a child at gunpoint. The caller further told police he had poured gasoline over the house, planned to set it on fire and stated he would shoot at officers if they arrived at the location.

Authorities said "numerous police crews" were accordingly dispatched and set up a perimeter around the house. Police made contact via phone with a person whom they believed to be the occupant; the person told police the residence was now occupied by one of his family members.

Police made contact with the resident, who told them he was unaware of the call. Upon further investigation, police were able to determine the call was made from an online phone app. The resident told authorities he believed the caller to be someone named "Miley" whom he had met through an online chatroom.

The resident was not able to provide any further information on the person who made the false call, and dispatch was unable to trace the call, police claimed.

No injuries were reported and no charges were filed at the time of the police report.
