TPD: Woman shot at large gathering near Swayne Field

The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A 24-year-old woman is recovering after being shot in the area of Swayne Field early Saturday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. at 3000 Monroe St. where a large number of cars and people were reportedly gathered.

Officers went to the scene after hearing gunshots. When they arrived, all of the vehicles were exiting the lot.

According to a police report, several minutes later, Alexandria Hunter, 24, walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound to her upper torso. 

Officers said her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

This incident is under investigation. We will continue to keep you updated.
