BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Bowling Green City Schools approved a master facilities plan during a board of education meeting Wednesday night, a plan funded by a tax levy passed by voters last year.
According to the board of education meeting livestream, the school's master facilities plans includes two projects: constructing a new high school and renovating the district's activity center, though additional projects are expected to fall under consideration at a later date. The nearly $73 million scheduled for use in the construction comes from the tax levy approved by voters in November 2023, the fifth time a levy had been placed on the ballot.
The money will be used to construct a new high school; district administrators said the old building is "beyond repair" and needed a complete demolition. Following the construction of a new high school, the district will renovate an activity center, then decide which elementary schools require renovations and/or new facilities.

The district also plans to create an Ohio Facilities Construction Commission resolution in order to rework and maximize square footage based on student enrollment in each building.
