TOLEDO, Ohio — A little girl who was injured in a hit-and-run crash Thursday is recovering at home in south Toledo.
The family of 5-year-old Amily'Ana Moore said she was released from the hospital Friday.
Amily'Ana was at her bus stop on Birchwood Avenue near Heatherdowns Boulevard shortly after 3:30 p.m., when a 14-year-old driving an all-terrain vehicle lost control and struck her, according to Toledo police.
The incident was caught on Greg Mahaney's doorbell camera camera.
"It was shocking," Mahaney said. "It wasn't something that you'd like to see when you have a good neighborhood, and this incident was hard to watch."
In the video, another neighbor could be seen walking toward the intersection. The neighbor suddenly stops, someone can be heard screaming, and an ATV makes a right turn. As the neighbor runs toward the intersection, the ATV driver speeds away from the scene.
"We're happy to hear that she's gonna be fine," Mahaney said. "And happy that they were able to find the guy and apprehend him."
The driver, who police say is 14 years old, was taken into custody and is facing charges.
