Driver crashes into east Toledo home, taken to hospital

The crash occurred around 4 a.m. Friday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — One person was taken to the hospital after the vehicle they were driving crashed into an east Toledo home early Friday.

Emergency crews responded to the 1000 block of East Broadway Street regarding a crash involving a car striking a home at approximately 4 a.m. 

No one in the home was injured, according to crews.

Authorities on scene told WTOL 11 the male driver was fully conscious and had no obvious injuries in the crash. The driver was taken to the hospital. According to a Toledo police report, the driver was cited for failure to control. 

Emergency crews also said a building department will responded to the scene to evaluate the home's structure, as it was unstable. 

A tow truck was also en route to remove the vehicle. Urban Search and Rescue units were also on scene. East Broadway at Stillman was closed for two and a half hours, police said in the report.
