TOLEDO, Ohio — A man is dead after a crash on an exit ramp in east Toledo Thursday morning, according to police.
Authorities said they responded to the northbound I-280 exit ramp at Front Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. A Toledo police report claimed a white pickup truck struck a guard rail on the exit ramp before hitting two other vehicles stopped at a red light on Front Street at the intersection.
Toledo Fire & Rescue crews pronounced the driver of the pickup truck, 55-year-old Douglas Myers, dead at the scene.
Speed appears to be a factor, police said in a crash report. It is unknown if impairment also factored into the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
Crews closed off the roadway while authorities investigated the crash.
The occupants of the other vehicles involved in the crash were not injured.
