MONROE COUNTY, Michigan — KOA announced plans to make improvements and changes to their Monroe County campground location in the coming years, developments it said would include new cabins and amenities, among other additions.
According to a Facebook post from the business, the "major improvements" include two pools, a splash pad, pool cabanas, a concessions area and a mini golf course. Also expected are six new cabins and additional RV and camping sites.
KOA said the renovations are scheduled to begin in fall 2024, but will be implemented in phases so as to not interfere with the upcoming summer camping season and Halloween weekends. KOA did not give an expected completion date of renovations, but said construction would occur "over the next several years".
The campground also provided a masterplan concept drawing of the area's planned improvements, which was included in their social media post.
