1 killed, 2 injured in Lenawee County crash; law enforcement investigating

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — One person was killed and two were injured in a Lenawee County crash Wednesday night, according to a press release from Michigan State Police

Troopers said they responded to a two-vehicle crash in Clinton Township on Tecumseh Clinton Highway near Allen Road at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Law enforcement, assisted by the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office and multiple other agencies, determined on-scene that a silver GMC Terrain was traveling northbound on the roadway when a blue Jeep Wrangler, traveling southbound, struck it. 

The driver of the GMC Terrain, described by troopers as a 72-year-old male from Clinton Township, was fatally injured in the crash. The GMC's passenger, a 75-year-old female also from Clinton Township, was life-flighted to a hospital and remains in critical condition, law enforcement said.

The driver of the Jeep, described as a 38-year-old female from Tecumseh, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. According to the press release, alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, and the driver of the Jeep was cooperating with investigators. 

While investigating the crash, authorities shut down the roadway. 

None of the involved persons were named in the press release, and it is unknown if any charges have been filed in the incident.
