MONROE COUNTY, Michigan — This Thursday the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will reopen the Luna Pier Road bridge that goes over I-75.
According to a press release, the project is among MDOT's $126 million investment to rebuild I-75 between Erie Road and Otter Creek in Monroe County. It also includes the rebuilding of five additional bridges with ramps in the same area. Over 1,500 jobs are expected to be supported by the investment.
The new bridge improvements will enhance safety and mobility around I-75, MDOT said in the press release.
Funding for these improvements are provided by by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program, a program made to rebuild the state roadways that are critical to the state's economy, and carry the most traffic.
