TOLEDO, Ohio — A man died in custody of the Lucas County Sheriff's Office, authorities confirmed Monday morning.
According to a press release from the sheriff's office, 39-year-old Ralph Vidak was found unconscious in a housing unit of the medical area in the Lucas County Corrections Center at approximately 2:13 p.m. Sunday.
A life squad responded to the area while staff rendered medical aid; crews transported Vidak to a local hospital. Vidak died just before 3 a.m. Monday.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation will investigate Vidak's death, authorities said.

Vidak had been booked at the Lucas County jail on Tuesday, May 7 on charges of drug trafficking, drug abuse and theft, the sheriff's office said.
