TOLEDO, Ohio — To celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month this September, the Ohio Library Council has partnered up with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio with goals to make libraries more impactful in Ohio communities.
Michelle Francis, Executive Director of OLC said, in a press release, “Getting a library card is a transformative experience for children and families, It opens a whole new world of education, entertainment, and enrichment."
In addition to the partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio, the OLC is encouraging the public to visit their local library, sign up for a card, and make use of the many resources a library offers.
Ohio's public libraries offer homework help, creative makerspaces, wi-fi hotspots and so much more. Everyone is invited to explore the resources and opportunities their local library has to offer.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio is a program where free books are delivered to children homes who are under the age of 5. Right now, over 409,000 children in Ohio are signed up. To register, visit www.ohioimaginationlibrary.org
