TOLEDO, Ohio —
To help increase business for bars and restaurants in downtown Toledo, drivers may notice several temporary street closures starting this Friday.
The City of Toledo, who is in partnership with these bars and restaurants and ConnecToledo, made the announcement Wednesday.
The closures will allow seating the public right of way and will be implemented every Friday at 5 p.m. until midnight and Saturday from 12 p.m. through 10 p.m. until further notice.
Guests are invited to enjoy food and drink in the designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas in a socially distant way.
The City of Toledo will provide picnic tables in the street and many establishments will have tables and chairs outdoors.
Patrons must be seated at a table to be served in one of the designated areas in to order to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Only groups of 10 or less will be allowed and all alcohol must be purchased from a bar or restaurant and served outdoors in an official Outdoors Refreshment Area cup.
The City of Toledo warns that the street closures can only continue if the guidelines are followed.
Below are the streets that will be closed at the designated times:
- Adams Street between 20th and 17th streets.
- Adams Street between 15th and 14th
- Huron Street between Monroe and Washington Streets.
Summit Street is closed for construction.
