TOLEDO, Ohio — Crews from the Toledo Police Department, Toledo Fire and Rescue Department and the Ohio Department of Transportation were on scene of a three vehicle accident involving a semi shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday, March 10.
When WTOL 11 arrived on scene, a Meijer semitruck was found to be sitting in a pond off the embankment of I-280 northbound near exit 11.
According to a Toledo police report, the truck broke its axle on an exit ramp, struck a concrete wall and came to rest in a ditch.
A vehicle in the northbound lane of I-280 was seen crashed into the guardrail and another vehicle was seen crashed into the median of southbound I-280.
The right two lanes had to be blocked off by TPD.
The number of people involved and condition of those involved with the incident are currently unknown.
WTOL 11 has reached out to TPD for more information regarding the incident, but has not yet received a response.
