SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Sylvania Township Fire Chief Mike Ramm was placed on paid leave last week, a township trustee told WTOL 11 Tuesday.
According to trustee John Jennewine, Ramm, who has served as the township's fire chief for eight years, was placed on paid administrative leave on Feb. 12. He is under investigation for allegations of unfair labor practices, something the township said it hired outside counsel to investigate.

Trustees are expected to discuss the report during an already scheduled board meeting the same day at 5 p.m. The meeting is expected to go into executive session. Jennewine also told WTOL 11 a decision regarding the incident is not guaranteed to be made Tuesday night.
Following Ramm's paid leave, Assistant Fire Chief Chris Nye was made the current acting Fire Chief. However, Jennewine said Nye recently announced his retirement and the trustees were actively looking for a replacement.
