TOLEDO, Ohio — Four people are safe after they were rescued from a sinking boat in the Maumee Bay Tuesday evening, according to a Toledo police report.
Toledo Fire and Rescue (TFRD) initiated a water rescue in the bay at the mouth of the Maumee River at approximately 6:49 p.m. after they were made aware of a boat sinking in the water. Crews rescued the four occupants "without incident", authorities said. There were no injuries reported.
The boat was not yet recovered at the time of the report, but local authorities forwarded the coordinates of the wreck to the U.S. Coast Guard. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources also responded to the location, officials said.
