Toledo Police have released body camera video from a fire response on June 5, showing the dangers they face while on the job.
Two Toledo Police officers rushed into a burning building to save a family after an 11-year-old girl called 911 and alerted authorities to the fire at an apartment complex on Southard.
The girl advised crews that the residence was filled with smoke and she, her mother and her siblings, ages two and three, couldn't get out.
Police located the location of the fire, forced entry into the apartment and found the young children an upstairs bedroom.
The mother and her children were escorted to safety; then officers worked to clear the building of all other tenants as Toledo Fire crews arrived on scene.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
