TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Public Schools is asking for your input as leaders are preparing to finalize school plans for fall. They have said they'd like to resume in-person teaching for this upcoming school year, but they also want input from their district families.
They're asking families to take a survey on the return.
Executive Transformational Leader of Organizational Staff and Business Operations at TPS, James Gant, says this survey will help the district figure out what the needs are for their families as they wait for official guidelines from the state.
"We're trying to serve them, obviously the best that we can so understanding what their needs are and their input will definitely help them understanding that TPS is student centered and they make their decisions student-centered and they're looking out for their best interest. So that's the most important thing," Gant says.
In creating a survey, he says, it will also allow them to incorporate responses into discussions about specific needs with staffing and building operations.
There's around ten questions in the survey that range from the possibility of wearing face coverings in buildings to transportation.
Gant says they've already gotten responses in the short time they've had the survey up.
"I'm excited that people have seen it and responded and I really encourage anybody watching this to please fill it out. It's really useful information for us that will be able to help ascertain exactly how we want to go about next year," he said.
The last day to take the survey is June 26. You can provide feedback here.
