SANDUSKY, Ohio — The shores of Lake Erie will be a great place to experience the April 8 total solar eclipse and many local businesses and community groups have prepared special events to celebrate.
Cedar Point has created a special event to let eclipse watchers enjoy the experience from the amusement park, which is usually still closed in early April.
On April 8, however, Cedar Point will open the park to a limited number of visitors for the once-in-a-lifetime event.
In Sandusky, the eclipse will be visible from 3:12:21 p.m. to 3:16:06 p.m.. That's 3 minutes and 45 seconds of totality.
Tickets are limited for this event at Cedar Point, which will feature eclipse-viewing opportunities from the beach and elevated decks at the amusement park.
The park also plans to have a limited number of rides on The Boardwalk and in Kiddy Kingdom available, as well as food and drinks at the Grand Pavilion Restaurant and Bar.
Season passes are not valid for the special event.
Tickets range from $99 to $199 and are available on the Cedar Point website.
