TOLEDO, Ohio — Many eyes will be on the sky on April 8 to view the total solar eclipse.

Along with seeing the eclipse, you'll also be able to see several planets.

The first planet visible will be Venus. It will be the brightest planet in the sky and could be visible before, during and after the eclipse. It will be 15 degrees down to the right of the sun.

Jupiter will also be visible shortly after Venus but won't be as bright. It will be 30 degrees up to the left of the sun.

There's an easy way to use degrees to look for something in the sky. To measure the distance, hold your fist out at arm's length. This measures about 10 degrees.

Venus and Jupiter will be the primary planets you will see during the eclipse, but it will be possible to see Saturn and Mars along the horizon and Uranus past Jupiter, too.

Another rare sight that occurs every 71 years is the 12P/Pons-Brooks comet passing by. There is a small chance it could be visible during this time.
