WHEELING, W.Va. — The Walleye continue to roll through the Kelly Cup Playoffs as they nabbed their second consecutive series sweep, beating the Wheeling Nailers, 3-2 Friday night.
Toledo's overtime win against the Nailers marks its 22nd straight, dating back to the regular season and having not yet dropped a game in the postseason, sweeping Kalamazoo in the first round.
Riley Sawchuck scored the final goal of the night for the Fish, joining ECHL MVP Brandon Hawkins and Chase Gresock for the Walleye's points at WesBanco Arena, in Wheeling, W.Va.
Toledo will face the winner of Kansas City and Idaho, who will end their series Saturday at the earliest. If Kansas City wins, the Walleye travel. If Idaho wins, the Fish will defend their home turf at the Huntington Arena.
