TOLEDO, Ohio — Representatives with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) said the Craig Memorial bridge will remain closed to drivers Thursday, likely canceling the day's plan to try raising and lowering the drawbridge.
Crews are still troubleshooting the electrical panel, and at this point it is unclear when they may be able to get things moving.
The bridge has been stuck in the "up" position since March 21. It was reportedly raised to allow a boat to pass, but was then not able to be lowered.
According to ODOT, an electrical component became overloaded and melted.
Crews began work on the bridge last week, and have secured all the parts needed for repair.
The goal was to have the bridge back in service this week; but so far, no official date for its reopening has been announced.
