LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich — One person was killed and other was seriously injured in a Lenawee County crash Wednesday afternoon.
According to a press release from Michigan State Police, a Ford Focus was turning north onto Humphrey Highway from US 223 Highway in Palmyra Township at approximately 3:40 p.m.
The Ford Focus was then struck by a maroon Ford Expedition, MSP claimed, a vehicle that was traveling westbound on US 223.
The collision seriously injured an 82-year-old man and 76-year-old woman, and both were taken to the hospital. The 76-year-old died from her injuries, troopers said.
The driver of the second vehicle, described by authorities as a 58-year-old man, was not seriously injured and was treated on scene.

According to law enforcement, neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash. A portion of US 223 was closed for several hours while troopers investigated on scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to contact Trooper Jason Mead at 734-242-3500.
