List of road closures for Officer Anthony Dia's funeral procession

There will be several street closures along the procession route today as fallen officer Anthony Dia is laid to rest.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Following Officer Anthony Dia's memorial service at Savage Arena, a procession will take place along the route to Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.

The service at Savage Arena is closed to the public, limited only to family and friends, members of their faith-based community, police and fire personnel. The same applies to the gathering at Toledo Memorial Park, where Ofc. Dia will be laid to rest. The service at Savage Arena will be covered live on WTOL 11, our Facebook page, app and website.

Citizens are encouraged to line the route of the procession to show support for Officer Dia. The procession will go westbound along Douglas Road to Monroe Street, ending at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania .

The following road closures will be in effect before, during and after the service and processional. Drivers are advised to find alternate routes and avoid the area, especially around Toledo Memorial Park, due to an expected high volume of traffic.

The following intersections will be closed during the listed times:

  • Dorr and Westwood will be closed from 7:45 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Douglas and University Hills will be closed from 7:45 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Dorr and Douglas will be closed from 7:45 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • The following road closures will be in effect, both ways: 
  • Douglas Rd to Monroe St will be closed from 11:45 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Monroe Street from Douglas to Toledo Memorial Park (at 6382 Monroe Street) will be closed 11:45 a.m.– 2 p.m.

The duration and specifics of these closures are subject to change at any time.
