OHIO, USA — As the city of Toledo and the Ohio Turnpike gear up in preparation for the winter season, you can name one of the many snowplows that clear the area's roadways.
For the second year in a row, submissions will be accepted to name a total of six snow plows in Toledo:
- Submissions will be accepted from Nov. 20 - 27
- The voting period will take place from Nov. 27 - Dec. 4

As a new feature this year, residents in Lucas County will also be able to track where snow plows are in real time on a map. You can find the snowplow tracking feature here.
A total of eight names will be assigned to snow plow trucks in service along the 241-mile Ohio Turnpike in the cities of Pioneer, Swanton, Elmore, Castalia, Amherst, Richfield, Windham and Canfield:
- Submission period closed on Nov. 15
- The voting period takes place from Nov. 20 - Dec. 6
- Each winner will receive a $100 gift card, courtesy of the Ohio Turnpike
Although the Ohio Turnpike is no longer taking submissions, you can still vote on a list full of clever names! The winners will be announced on Dec. 11.
